Israel Considers Pre-Emptive Attack On Iran

Source: Sky News

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to rally support in his cabinet for an attack on Iran, according to government sources.

The country's defence minister Ehud Barak and the foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman are said to be among those backing a pre-emptive strike to neutralise Iran's nuclear ambitions.

But a narrow majority of ministers currently oppose the move, which could trigger a wave of regional retaliation.

The debate over possible Israeli military action has reached fever pitch in recent days with newspaper leader columns discussing the benefits and dangers of hitting Iran.

Mr. Lieberman responded to the reports of a push to gain cabinet approval by saying that "Iran poses the most dangerous threat to world order."

Iran Seeks U.S. Apology Over Saudi Ambassador Murder Plot Claims

Source: NewsCorp

TEHRAN -- The Iranian government wrote a letter to Washington seeking an apology for allegations that Iran backed a plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the U.S. on American soil, a spokesman said Tuesday.

"A letter has been sent ... It is our right to seek the official apology of the Americans in protest of this made-up scenario, as these allegations are not true at all," foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said at a news conference, quoted by the IRNA news agency.

Herman Cain: Entering Into A Shooting War with Iran "Perfectly Alright"

Source: Prison Planet
Steve Watson

Former pizza magnate also unaware China has nukes.

Herman Cain’s foreign policy objectives were on show once again last night as the GOP candidate made some bizarre statements that should have even the most ardent Republican hawks worried.

During a lengthy interview with Bill O’Reilly on Fox News, Cain suggested that he wouldn’t see it as a problem to enter into full on military confrontation with Iran.

When O’Reilly asked “What is the most important foreign policy problem the United States has to deal with today?” Cain attempted to sidestep the issue by giving a generic answer and simply replying “Lack of clarity”.

“No, specifically.” O’Reilly countered, “What area of the world concerns you the most?”
“The Middle East, obviously….” Cain answered, somewhat reticently.

“At the time I become president I will have to evaluate the situation in Iraq, and Iran, and everyone of these countries.” he added.

After failing to convince O’Reilly with more of the same rhetoric about energy independence and pleading “work with me here Bill, work with me,” Cain conceded that in order to deal with Iran he would “maximize the use of our Ballistic missile Defense capabilities.”

"I Would double the use of ballistic missile capable ships," Cain explained, adding “Iran understands only two things, economic pressure and military might.”

“So you’re going to put warships in the Gulf, because they’ll attack them, you know.” O’Reilly hamfistedly countered.

“That would be perfectly alright, because I believe that we have superior capability.” Cain replied.

The Assassination of Gaddafi

Source: Corbett Report and Global Research.ca
James Corbett

The killing of Muammar Gaddafi at the hands of NATO-backed, Al Qaeda-linked forces marks the end of a campaign expressly aimed at the assassination of a head of state and overthrow of a sovereign country in direct violation of international standards that have held sway since the Nuremberg trials at the end of World War II and the establishment of the Geneva Conventions.

The NATO campaign, known as “Operation Unified Protector,” was a continuation of the US-led Operation Odyssey Dawn. It formally began on March 23rd, 2011 and was ostensibly an operation to enforce United Nations Security Council resolution 1973. From the outset, the NATO coalition partners insisted that the aim of the mission was not to assist a rebel insurgency in overthrowing the Gaddafi government, but to “protect civilians” in accordance with UN resolutions.

The real intention of the operation was revealed shortly thereafter, however, in a joint op-ed in the pages of the International Herald Tribune penned by Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy:

“Our duty and our mandate under U.N. Security Council Resolution 1973 is to protect civilians, and we are doing that. It is not to remove Qaddafi by force,” they wrote in their editorial. “But it is impossible to imagine a future for Libya with Qaddafi in power.[...]It is unthinkable that someone who has tried to massacre his own people can play a part in their future government.”

Within a month, the true aim of the intervention to assassinate Gaddafi was confirmed when NATO forces bombed the personal residence of Saif Al-Arab Gaddafi, Muammar’s youngest son in an admitted attempt to kill the Libyan leader himself. While Gaddafi himself was not caught in the strike, his son and three of his grandchildren were killed in the bombing.

Cameron: Internet Crackdown Ahead

Source: Infowars
Kurt Nimmo

On Monday, David Cameron went before an international cyberspace conference in London and said it was “essential to strike a balance between the needs of online security and the right to free expression.”

“We cannot leave cyberspace open to the criminals and the terrorists that threaten our security and our prosperity but at the same time we cannot just go down the heavy-handed route,” he said.

John Kampfner, the chief executive of the Index on Censorship, clarified Cameron’s comments:

“It’s very easy to defend the case of black and white – human rights against dictatorships around the world. But as soon as our own Western-style stability of the state is called into question, well then freedom of expression is expendable. There should be one rule for all including Western governments.”

Cameron’s comments are viewed as a response to China and Russia. Both countries have pushed for tighter regulation of the internet through binding international treaties.

In the United States, the government has used a mostly phantom cyber threat to call for draconian legislation to control the internet. In January, Sens. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) renewed their call for an “internet kill switch” that would allow the president to shut down the internet in response to a national emergency.

The effort came as the Egyptian government shut down the internet in response to demonstrations calling for the removal of president Hosni Mubarak. The move demonstrated that governments have the ability and technical capacity to shut down the internet in response to political crises.

Globalist Using London Cyberspace Summit to Push for Global Internet Treaty

Source: Activist Post
Eric Blair

For the next two days, leaders from around the globe will collude with tech giants to discuss how to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the Internet. Translation: they'll be negotiating a global Internet treaty.

It's reported that officials from 60 countries will join Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Tudou.com (Chinese video sharing site), as well as cyber crime agencies, and computer security firms at the London Conference on Cyberspace.

The London summit is hosted by Foreign Secretary, William Hague, who said the purpose is to "discuss ideas and expected behavior in cyberspace".

To which he claims the goal is bring together major players to determine how "collectively, we should respond to the challenges and opportunities which the development of cyberspace presents."

A few days before the conference, Council on Foreign Relations members Adam Segal and Matthew Waxman wrote that the conference presents those calling for a global Internet treaty with "a step in that direction."
They also pointed out that NATO allies have already essentially agreed to a treaty; "June 2011, NATO defense ministers agreed to a collective vision of cyber defense, and the United States and Australia recently announced that their mutual defense treaty extends to cyberspace."

Federally-Funded Street Lights Capable of "Recording Conversations"

Source: Prison Planet
Paul Joseph Watson

Orwellian ‘Intellistreets’ system now being installed in major cities.

Federally-funded high-tech street lights now being installed in American cities are not only set to aid the DHS in making “security announcements” and acting as talking surveillance cameras, they are also capable of “recording conversations,” bringing the potential privacy threat posed by ‘Intellistreets’ to a whole new level.

In the days after we first brought attention to the privacy concerns surrounding the new street lights, with our story featuring prominently on the Drudge Report website, the company behind them, Illuminating Concepts, went on the defensive, issuing a press release claiming the devices didn’t represent a “big brother” intrusion.

However, as you can see from the video above, ‘Intellistreets’ is big brother on steroids. George Orwell himself would probably have considered the concept too far-fetched to appear in the dystopian classic 1984.

Not only can the street lights, now being rolled out in Detroit, Chicago and Pittsburgh with Department of Energy backing, act as surveillance cameras, Minority Report-style advertising hubs, and Homeland Security alert systems, they are “also capable of recording conversations,” reports ABC 7.

In their press release, the company behind the street lights also denied that they had received DHS funding for the system. In the aftermath of the controversy generated last week, ABC 7 reports that owner Ron Harwood is now “working with Homeland Security” to implement the high tech network, which is connected via a ubiquitous wi-fi system.

ALLEGED CRIMES OF THE FED

Source: Giza Death Star
Dr. Joseph P. Farrell

Someone sent me the following link about recent leaked papers from the Federal Reserve, and the comments they evoked from a sitting US Senator:

OK…beyond the stupid picture of Bernanke with the camera looking up at him…a typical ploy of propagandists to deify their subjects … what the article states is, to me, quite interesting. First, we note that it was an independent US Senator, Bernie Sanders, that had the guts to point out Federal Reserve corruption. We hear little about it from Republithugs or Dummycrooks, other than Ron Paul. The same Senator Sanders also asks the significant question: has the Fed become the central bank of the world?

But I suggest, the honorable Mr. Sanders’ comments notwithstanding, that the real shockers – for most people anyway – are three statements that the author of the post, David DeGraw, makes:

(1)”All the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations got their cut;” and let’s not forget

(2) “People throughout the world who keep using the dollar are either A) Part of the scam; B) Oblivious to reality; C) Believe that US military power will be able to maintain the value of an otherwise worthless currency; D) All of the above.”

OK…true enough. What Mr DeGraw is getting at here is something I’ve commented on myself, namely, that in the ponzi scheme of central banks issuing monetized debt as a nation’s currency, i.e., issuing the facsimile of money, is that the ultimate collateral on the debt is the nation and its people itself. The racketeering and corruption are thus inherent to the system, and Mr. DeGraw is right in implying that the RICO act comes into play here, for “crony capitalism” resembles nothing so much as the ‘business’ of organized crime.

I point out that in this system, especially when a nation like the US has shipped most of its manufacturing overseas – and both the Dummycrooks and Republithugs have been complicit in this “free market” nonsense, the result is that the backing of the dollar as a reserve currency comes down to force…. the “backing” in other words, is the US military, and this we have seen ample evidence of in the past few months and years.  It means inevitably that unless we can get a handle on this runaway corruption, and put our monetary and fiscal house in order, that a geopolitical clash is inevitable.

(3) “The Progressive’s Matthew Rothschild has a good quote: ‘The financial bailout was a giant boondoggle, undemocratic and kleptocratic to its core.’”

This is the statement I found to be the most interesting in the whole article. I have no idea if Matthew Rothschild is a member of the far-flung banking clan or not, but I rather suspect, given its size, that he is. I have previously blogged about another Rothschild bankster who also called for the end of the Eurozone or at least a massive restructuing of it. Well, that has happened. What intrigues me is that the statements of Matthew Rothschild indicate more than just a bit of a fissure between the Rockefeller group and the Rothschild group, for as I pointed out in Babylon’s Banksters, the primary target of the Gaussian copula formula of David Li were Rothschild interests and secondarily the Rockefeller interests.

I suspect that these banking moves by the Fed are signals that there is a real struggle occurring for who will influence Europe the most: the Fed, or, as we saw this week with the quiet Chinese support of the new bailout package announced by Chancellorin Merkel are her French counterpart, a new role for China in Europe.  It’s getting interesting folks!

World's Most Powerful Laser to Tear Apart the Vacuum of Space

Source: The Telegraph
Richard Gray

A laser powerful enough to tear apart the fabric of space could be built in Britain as part major new scientific project that aims to answer some of the most fundamental questions about our universe.

Due to follow in the footsteps of the Large Hadron Collider, the latest "big science" experiment being proposed by physicists will see the world's most powerful laser being constructed.
Capable of producing a beam of light so intense that it would be equivalent to the power received by the Earth from the sun focused onto a speck smaller than a tip of a pin, scientists claim it could allow them boil the very fabric of space – the vacuum.
Contrary to popular belief, a vacuum is not devoid of material but in fact fizzles with tiny mysterious particles that pop in and out of existence, but at speeds so fast that no one has been able to prove they exist.

The Extreme Light Infrastructure Ultra-High Field Facility would produce a laser so intense that scientists say it would allow them to reveal these particles for the first time by pulling this vacuum "fabric" apart.

They also believe it could even allow them to prove whether extra-dimensions exist.

US Pulls Unesco Funding After Palestine is Granted Full Membership

Source: The Guardian
Harriet Sherwood

The United States has cut off funds to Unesco as a punitive action after the Palestinian Authority was accepted into the UN agency as a full member in defiance of American, Israeli and European pressure.

The overwhelming backing for the Palestinians' bid to join the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation was a huge boost for their campaign for international recognition of an independent state, and a blow to Israel and the US, who had opposed the move.

Members voted by 107 votes to 14 to accept Palestine as a full member state to loud cheers from delegates in Paris. Fifty-two countries, including the UK, abstained.

Within hours, the US announced it would withhold its huge contribution to Unesco's budget as a result of the vote. State department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the US had no choice due to a 21-year-old law prohibiting the payment of funds to any UN body accepting the Palestinians as full members.

A $60m (£38m) transfer that was due later this month would be halted in a move that will have serious consequences for Unesco activities. The US contributes 22% of the agency's annual budget.

6.5M Quake Strikes Off Coast of Taiwan

A strong earthquake hit off the northeastern seaboard of Taiwan Sunday morning at 11:23 AM at a depth of around 221 KM, not much damage was reported.
Taiwan News reports;
Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau says the quake registered magnitude 6.5, while the U.S. Geological Survey puts it at 5.5.
The earthquake struck Sunday morning at sea, about 88 miles (141 kilometers) east of the Taiwanese county of Keelung. Keelung is about 17 miles (28 kilometers) east of the capital, Taipei.

Imran Khan Leads 100,000 Rally Against Pakistan's US Alliance

Source: The Telegraph

Khan, 58, entered politics 15 years ago when he founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, or the Movement for Justice Party, but up to now he has struggled to translate his fame into votes.

The rally in the eastern city of Lahore indicated his message may have found new resonance at a time when Pakistanis are fed up with the country's chronic insecurity and economic malaise.

"I have come here to register my hatred against this corrupt system," said 29-year-old Nadeem Iqbal, who attended the rally.
A poll conducted by the U.S.-based Pew Research Center in June found Khan, the captain of Pakistan's 1992 world champion cricket team, to be the most popular political figure in the country.

He has been especially critical of U.S. drone strikes targeting militants in Pakistan's rugged tribal region along the Afghan border. The latest suspected strike killed six alleged militants on Sunday. Khan has argued that Pakistan's alliance with the U.S. is the main reason Pakistan is facing a home-grown Taliban insurgency.

"Our leaders owned this war on terror for the sake of dollars," Khan told the crowd assembled around the country's most important national monument, the Minar-e-Pakistan. "Let me curse you. You sold out the blood of innocent people."

The Occupy movement is not complaining about the economic downturn it is complaining about the economic system itself, it's the money that's the problem it is not the economic downturn, the problems that we face in the planet are because of the central banking system which has been imposed around the planet by the crown Corporation which is created by the Vatican. The Vatican controls all these central banks anyway and now their answer to the problem is to further centralize the power and give more power to the Vatican.

China-US Energy Geopolitics: The Battle for Oil in the South China Sea

Source: Global Research.ca
Prof. Michel Chossudovsky

A new area of potential confrontation is developing between China and the U.S. According to reports, Exxon Mobil which has acquired exploration and production rights from Vietnam has discovered substantial gas reserves in the South China Sea  off the coast of North Vietnam.
"U.S. oil company ExxonMobil is reporting a "potentially significant" gas discovery off the coast of Vietnam, stating in a press release, "We can confirm ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Vietnam Limited drilled its second exploration well offshore Danang in August 2011 and encountered hydrocarbons." (See John C.K. Daly, Apocalypse Redux? U.S. Natural Gas Find off Vietnam Could Raise Tensions with China,  http://oilprice.com )

It is important to note that  these off-shore reserves are located between the North Vietnam coastline and China's Hainan island in area of disputed jurisdiction between Vietnam and China. The contested area is made up of blocks 117, 118 and 119, which according to Hanoi falls well within the 200-mile exclusive economic zone under international maritime law (Ibid).

Chile: Earth Changes Are Intensifying As More Volcanoes Become Active

In recent days Chile’s Hudson Volcano has been very active.

An excerpt from The Washington Post reads;
SANTIAGO, Chile — Chile’s Hudson Volcano released three huge columns of steam and ash that combined in a cloud more than 3 miles (5 kilometers) high on Friday, threatening a much larger eruption that had authorities in Chile and Argentina on red alert.
Chilean officials evacuated 119 people from the immediate area, and other nearby residents prepared to flee as melting snow and ice caused the Aysen river to overflow its banks.
Experts fear a large scale eruption in the near future.

SOPA: Hollywood Finally Gets a Chance to Break the Internet

Source: EFF
Corynne Mcsherry

As promised, here’s the first installment of our closer review of the massive piece of job-killing Internet regulation that is the Stop Online Piracy Act. We’ll start with how it could impact Twitter, Tumblr, and the next innovative social network, cloud computing, or web hosting service that some smart kid is designing in her garage right now.

Let’s make one thing clear from the get-go: despite all the talk about this bill being directed only toward “rogue” foreign sites, there is no question that it targets US companies as well. The bill sets up a system to punish sites allegedly “dedicated to the theft of US property.”  How do you get that label?  Doesn’t take much: Some portion of your site (even a single page) must
  1. be directed toward the US, and either
  2. allegedly “engage in, enable or facilitate” infringement or
  3. allegedly be taking or have taken steps to “avoid confirming a high probability” of infringement.
If an IP rightsholder (vaguely defined – could be Justin Bieber worried about his publicity rights) thinks you meet the criteria and that it is in some way harmed, it can send a notice claiming as much to the payment processors (Visa, Mastercard, Paypal etc.) and ad services you rely on.

Washington's Black Ops Against Iran

Source: Global Research.ca
Dr. Ismail Salami

The US secret agenda for tightening its vice-like grip on the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken on an apparently new form after the anti-Iran alleged assassination plot against the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Adel al-Jubeir, raised many eyebrows among experts and analysts around the world.

With a strong penchant for pushing for tougher action on Iran, the Obama administration has already imposed a series of sanctions against the Islamic Republic. However, a Republican-controlled congressional committee has recently heard testimony demanding an extensive range of covert operations against the country.

The operations, which range from cyber attacks to political assassinations, are speculated to be conducted under the feeble excuse that Iran was the alleged architect of an assassination plot against the Saudi envoy to the United States. By political assassination, the US congressmen unconsciously mean the liquidation of the Iranian nuclear scientists, an act they actually started long ago.

Retired Army Gen. John Keane told a hearing of two key subcommittees of the House Committee on Homeland Security on Wednesday, "We've got to put our hand around their throat now. Why don't we kill them? We kill other people who kill others."

Building a Pretext to Wage War on Syria: Hidden Agenda Behind UN Security Council Resolution

Source: Global Research.ca
Ronda Hauben

I – Introduction
On Tuesday, October 4, the UN Security Council announced it would take up a draft resolution on Syria. This meeting was to be an instance, when the lessons some Security Council members had drawn from the experience with the resolutions on Libya could be reflected in their action on a draft resolution against Syria.

Several weeks earlier, journalists had been told that there were two different draft resolutions about Syria tabled at the Security Council.

One draft resolution on Syria had been proposed by Russia and China. Russia and China said their resolution had been designed to encourage a peaceful process to help the Syrian government deal both with its stated desire for reforms and with the extremist violence against the Syrian government that was making such reform difficult.

The other draft resolution was tabled by four of the European members of the Security Council - France, UK, Germany and Portugal. (1) This draft condemned the actions of the Syrian government. It did not oppose foreign intervention into Syria’s domestic affairs. The European draft called on all states to deny the Syrian government arms, but made no such call to deny weapons to the armed opposition.

The European draft framed the problem as the Syrian government, similar to how Resolution 1973 framed the problem in Libya as being due to the government guided by Muammar Gaddafi.

M6.9 Earthquake Hits Peru Homes Destroyed

Source: Intel Hub
Shepard Ambellas

The earth changes are getting increasingly rampant across the globe as a massive 6.9 earthquake strikes Peru.

An excerpt from Bloomberg reads;
A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck off the west coast of Peru, rattling residents in cities still recovering from a temblor that killed more than 500 people in 2007. No fatalities were immediately reported.
The temblor knocked out power and sent people running from their homes near its center, 286 kilometers (178 miles) south- southeast ofLima. In Ica, which was devastated by the magnitude-8 quake in 2007, a cathedral wall and church tower collapsed, along with several mud brick buildings, said Juan Carlos Romani, a spokesman for the city council.
“It was very strong but quick,” Romani said in a telephone interview from Ica, adding power and phone service hadn’t fully returned. “It lasted ten seconds at most but was very violent.”
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 5 aftershock about 90 minutes after the initial temblor.
Most of the collapsed homes were built of adobe officials said.

Google Censors War Crimes Video

In the clip below taken from Infowars Nightly News, Alex Jones reveals the hypocrisy of the transnational corporation Google and its popular video asset YouTube.

YouTube has not only blocked the ability to embed the video from the Alex Jones channel, but has used a host of tricks to prevent it from being viewed, including forcing users to register with YouTube to view adult content and include an email address. This works as a delisting to block views and in essence cosigns the video to the dead zone of porn and other questionable content.

The following is a temporary fix to YouTube’s undermining. We are working on hosting a version on our servers and it will be included here soon.
The second half of the Friday night Infowars Nightly News broadcast, however, was not locked down by YouTube because it does not include video footage of a Libyan child with the lower half of his face blown away, a powerful yet disgusting piece of truth information that will further turn the tide of popular opinion against the global elite’s endless wars and slaughter of innocents in much the same way the media in the late 1960s and early 1970s diminished public support for the Vietnam War.

The Nationwide Crackdown on Occupy Wall Street has Begun

Source: Activist Post
Madison Ruppert, Contributing Writer

Multiple cities across the nation have begun their offensive against the people standing up for the right to fair representation and a just economic system instead of the corporatist system which we are currently subjugated by.

Some of these have been brutal and vicious attacks on Americans, including what now appears to be an intentional attack on Scott Olsen -- a former Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq before leaving the military in 2010.

In Oakland Olsen was struck in the head by a police projectile, causing a skull fracture which put him in critical condition. Thankfully, Olsen is now conscious, although he is reportedly having trouble speaking and his brain swelling is still a risk according to doctors. The most disturbing part of this incident is not that the police who are supposed to protect and serve are brutally assaulting demonstrators but that the officer apparently meant to hit Olsen in the head.

As you will see in the following video, Scott Olsen was just feet away from the police barricade when he was hit in the head. The officer responsible clearly did not lob a tear gas canister as they are supposed to do, but instead aimed at Olsen’s head.

You will then see activists rush to Olsen’s aid as he is lying on the ground, unmoving and bleeding from the head.

Notice the police officer move back behind two other officers then lob what appears to be a flash bang right next to Olsen’s body.

THE CHOICE: RENAISSANCE, REFORMATION, OR REVOLUTION

Source: Giza Death Star
Dr. Joseph P. Farrell

We face a choice…we’re at a fork in the road with three branches: Renaissance, Reformation, or Revolution. We stand, in other words, at the same crossroads we stood at about half a millennium ago, and for similar reasons.

Consider only the parallels. Then an elite prevailed that had been in power for well over a millennium. It was an elite that controlled the mechanisms of bureaucracy, of money, and most importantly, of information and general culture. It could and did depose kings, and arrange the fates of nations. It launched – on its pretended divine authority – massive invasions of the Middle East and a “clash of civilizations.”It launched one of the bloodiest internal purges in history against the Cathars. It enforced its own version of political correctness and hate speech legislation, burning people alive who dared disagree with it, and hypocritically washing its hands of the deed by making “the secular authority” perform the executions. Its institutional claims, in spite of its modern face of gentility, have not changed. Nor has it repented and disavowed many of those deeds.

Japanese Journalist Accuses Israel Of Fukushima Sabotoge

Source: American Free Press
Richard Walker

A leading Japanese journalist recently made two incredible claims about the Fukushima power plant that suffered a nuclear meltdown in March 2011, sending shockwaves around the world. First, the former editor of a national newspaper in Japan says the U.S. and Israel knew Fukushima had weapons-grade uranium and plutonium that were exposed to the atmosphere after a massive tsunami wave hit the reactor. Second, he  contends that Israeli intelligence sabotaged the reactor in retaliation for Japan’s support of an independent Palestinian state.

According to Yoishi Shimatsu, a former editor of Japan Times Weekly, these nuclear materials were shipped to the plant in 2007 on the orders of Dick Cheney and George W. Bush, with the connivance of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The shipment was in the form of warhead cores secretly removed from the U.S. nuclear warheads facility BWXT Plantex near Amarillo, Texas. While acting as the middleman, Israel transported warheads from the port of Houston, and in the process kept the best ones while giving the Japanese older warhead cores that had to be further enriched at Fukushima.

Massive Pakistan Rally Demands End to US Drone Strikes

Source: AntiWar.com
Jason Ditz

With the Obama Administration escalating drone strikes against Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas, a massive protest was held today in the capital city of Islamabad condemning the strikes and demanding that the Zardari government do something to stop them.

The protesters included a large number of tribesmen from North Waziristan, the site of the vast majority of the recent US strikes. Several of them reported participating in a tribal jirga relating to the US attacks.

The jirga issued a resolution condemning the large numbers of innocent civilians killed in the bombing campaign, and also said they believed the attacks violated both Pakistani and international law.

Among those in attendance at the rally was key opposition figure Imran Khan, the head of Tehreek-e Insaf. Khan urged the Pakistani government to work with tribal elders to restore peace in the tribal areas and to downgrade ties with the US if the attacks did not end.

The Elite Plan for a New World Social Order

Source: Global Research.ca
Richard K Moore

When the Industrial Revolution began in Britain, in the late 1700s, there was lots of money to be made by investing in factories and mills, by opening up new markets, and by gaining control of sources of raw materials. The folks who had the most money to invest, however, were not so much in Britain but more in Holland. Holland had been the leading Western power in the 1600s, and its bankers were the leading capitalists. In pursuit of profit, Dutch capital flowed to the British stock market, and thus the Dutch funded the rise of Britain, who subsequently eclipsed Holland both economically and geopolitically.

In this way British industrialism came to be dominated by wealthy investors, and capitalism became the dominant economic system. This led to a major social transformation. Britain had been essentially an aristocratic society, dominated by landholding families. As capitalism became dominant economically, capitalists became dominant politically. Tax structures and import-export policies were gradually changed to favour investors over landowners.

Americans: Awash In Spin

Source: Global Research.ca
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts

I have come to the conclusion that Big Brother’s subjects in George Orwell’s 1984 are better informed than Americans.

Americans have no idea why they have been at war in the Middle East, Asia and Africa for a decade.  They don’t realize that their liberties have been supplanted by a Gestapo Police State.  Few understand that hard economic times are here to stay.

On October 27, 2011, the US government announced some routine economic statistics, and the president of the European Council announced a new approach to the Greek sovereign debt crisis.  The result of these funny numbers and mere words sent the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to its largest monthly rally since 1974, erasing its 2011 yearly loss. The euro rose, putting the European currency again 40% above its initial parity with the US dollar when the euro was introduced.

On National Public Radio a half-wit analyst declared, emphatically, that the latest US government statistics proved that the recovery was in place and that there was no danger whatsoever of a double-dip recession. And half-brain economists predicted a better tomorrow.

Congress Hears Recommendations for Escalating Covert and Military Action on Iran

Washington, DC – “This was an act of war,” said Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee at a hearing on how the U.S. should respond to the alleged Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington.

Panelists recommended a dramatic escalation of U.S. actions against Iran.

“You don't want to run away from that war, you want to run towards it," said Reul Marc Gerecht of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.  Gerecht, a former CIA agent who has been an long-time supporter of war with Iran, advised that the U.S. tell the world, “we are more willing to have another front on the war on terror.”

“Let’s not wring our hands,” said General Jack Keane (Ret.).  “If the international community doesn’t want to step up to it, we go without ‘em.”

Keane, a chief architect of the Bush Administration's Iraq "surge" in 2007, told the Congressional panel, “We’ve got to put our hand around their throat right now.”

He called for the U.S. to begin killing or capturing members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Quds Force, including its leader Qasem Sulemani.

“Why don’t we kill them?” he asked.

The transition to a police state will not come about with a dramatic coup d'etat, with battering rams and marauding militia. As we have experienced first-hand in recent years, it will creep in softly, one violation at a time, until suddenly you find yourself being subjected to random patdowns and security sweeps during your morning commute to work or quick trip to the shopping mall.— John W. Whitehead

The headline read, “Tennessee Becomes First State To Fight Terrorism Statewide.” News Channel 5 reported that on Tuesday, October 18, Tennessee deployed multiagency “Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response” (VIPR) teams “simultaneously at five weigh stations and two bus stations across the state.” These teams conducted unannounced airport-style screenings of truck drivers at weigh stations and passengers at bus terminals.

Clarksville Online explained the authority under which the warrantless searches were conducted, “The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security … partnered with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and several other federal and state agencies.” Among the agencies represented in the VIPR teams were Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

'Rogue Websites' Bill Creates Chinese-Style Ban List

ISPs would be forced to block websites by government decree.

The newly introduced ‘rogue websites’ bill that has attracted bi-partisan support in the House will force Internet Service Providers to create a list of banned websites and prevent their users from accessing the sites, creating a Chinese-style ‘ban list’ that could easily be abused to silence free speech.
“US lawmakers introduced a bill on Wednesday that would give US authorities more tools to crack down on websites accused of piracy of movies, television shows and music and the sale of counterfeit goods,” reports AFP.

“The Stop Online Piracy Act has received bipartisan support in the House of Representatives and is the House version of a bill introduced in the Senate in May known as the Theft of Intellectual Property Act or Protect IP Act.”

Although the legislation is primarily aimed at foreign websites, it could just as easily be applied to all .com domains.

The most chilling part of the legislation makes it clear that this is about empowering the federal government to create a blacklist of banned websites.

The US is Fast Becoming a Third World Police State

Source: The Dollar Vigilante

As a P.T. (often referred to as perpetual traveller, permanent tourist or prior taxpayer), I have travelled to nearly 100 countries.  During those travels there has always been one defining moment, upon entry into a country, which shows that the country is what is generally thought of as a "third world country".

It is the moment when, upon arrival, you are charged a fee to enter the country.  The reason generally being that the government of the country has so destroyed the economy and/or they have so little understanding of what creates wealth that they think that the way to make their country prosperous is to charge a fee upon entry rather than allowing people to enter freely and transact, trade and spend their money in the economy.  Either that or the government is so desperate for money that it uses this as a significant source of revenue.

Police Fire Tear Gas, Flashbang Grenades and Rubber Bullets at Peaceful Protesters

Washington's Blog

This is not Egypt, Greece or Italy … this is America:

The injured gentlemen is Veterans for Peace member Scott Olsen, allegedly shot with a rubber bullet.

This is another gentlemen allegedly shot in the face with a rubber bullet (his injury is above his right eye, while the injury to Scott Olsen appears to be on the left side of his face):

And a policeman threw a flash grenade into a crowd trying to help an injured protester:

Some are calling this the “new Kent State”.
And protesters from Tahrir Square, Egypt, say this is what it looked like there.

Bummer: Feds Stonewall Pot Treatments For Traumatized Vets

An Arizona psychiatrist is tantalizingly close to federal approval for a groundbreaking study of marijuana’s potency in treating PTSD — if only the National Institute on Drug Abuse would stop stonewalling her.

Dr. Sue Sisley, an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and a psychiatrist whose practice treats mostly war veterans, wants to add evidence-based science to the ubiquitous anecdotal reports, not to mention animal research, that point to marijuana’s effectiveness at quelling symptoms of post-traumatic stress. Although plenty of vets smoke up, medical marijuana can only be prescribed to PTSD sufferers living in New Mexico — where 27 percent of those with an approved ID card suffer from PTSD, making it the state’s number one qualifying diagnosis — and nary a study has evaluated whether the illicit drug actually works.

“Plenty of the veterans I’ve treated use marijuana, only they usually buy it illegally and use it covertly,” Sisley told Danger Room. “With research, we can actually figure out which symptoms it might help with, and what an optimal dosing strategy might look like.”

"Anonymous" Set To Destroy Fox News Website on November 5th

Source: RT

An attack on Fox News from the hacker group Anonymous has been a longtime coming. Now the collective says that an infiltration on the website for the Fair and Balanced news network will occur next month with Operation Fox Hunt slated for November 5.

An operative with the hacktivist group Anonymous narrates a video posted to the Web on October 22 that announces that an all-out attack on the Fox News website will come next month as retaliation for the network’s unjust attack on protesters with the Occupy Wall Street movement.

“Since they will not stop ridiculing the occupiers, we will simply shut them down,” says the digitzed voice in the recent YouTube clip. “Fox News, your time has come . . . Operation Fox Hunt. November 5th. May the hunt begin,” the narrator adds.

Former Goldman Sachs Director Caught up in Wall Street's biggest Insider Trading Scandal 'to surrender to FBI'

Source: Daily Mail

An ex-Goldman Sachs executive is facing charges of insider trading, sources have claimed.

Multimillionaire Rajat Gupta, 62, is expected to shortly surrender to the FBI on criminal charges of leaking inside information to Galleon Group hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam.

Billionaire Rajaratnam was given 11 years in prison earlier this month by a New York court, the longest sentence ever handed down for insider trading.

Mr Gupta, who was also once the global head of elite consultancy McKinsey & Co, is one of the most prominent business executives to be caught up in the Government's insider-trading probe.

Wartime Contracting Commission Classifies Findings for Next 20 Years

Although the Commission on Wartime Contracting was created to expose waste and abuse, their records are sealed until 2031

The Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan has decided to not reveal its full findings and materials to the public for another two decades, despite its stated purposes of investigating and exposing government waste.

The Commission has been at work for three years, revealing that up to $60 billion in US war funds were lost due to waste, fraud, and abuse. One report concluded that “criminal behavior and blatant corruption” were directly responsible for much of the waste in the expensive “reconstruction”projects in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2002. It also found that one in every six contracting and grant dollars spent in Iraq and Afghanistan has been wasted.

But the Commission now says it won’t allow its full records to be opened to the public at the National Archives until 2031, because, according to one official, some of the documents contain “sensitive information.” Evidence of government theft, profligacy, criminality, and waste is indeed sensitive information. That revealing these things was the purpose of the Commission seems lost on those deciding to hide important information from Americans.

Throughout United States history, that information which has been withheld from the public has primarily been withheld to prevent voters from having the chance to make informed decisions about their political leaders. The Obama administration came in promising unprecedented transparency in government, but this is yet another example of keeping the workings of government secret so as to insulate Washington bureaucrats from accountability.

Libya Shattered As Per NATO Plan; Gaddafi's Family Seeks Justice at the Hague

Source: Corbett Report
James Corbett on RT

Relatives of the slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi are reportedly looking to The Hague with a ‘war crimes’ lawsuit against NATO. They accuse the Alliance of deliberately targeting Gaddafi’s convoy, which they say posed no threat to civilians. NATO was only allowed into Libya by the UN solely to protect citizens. Meanwhile, the military alliance has postponed its preliminary decision to end its Libya mission by the end of this month, following calls from the interim government to stay on.
